Having the unique perspective of a manager, casting director with Nickelodeon  and now as theatrical agent with CESD in New York City, David Doan has a full perspective of what an amazing audition should be. In this workshop, Audition: The Full Perspective, David will work with each actor to build the full perspective audition performance that will catch the attention of casting. 

In today's market where casting sees hundreds of taped auditions a day from all over the US, it's vital for actors to send in their absolute best attention catching performances every time. Each actor will bring in an audition ready piece to peform for David, and he will give tips and feedback based on his extensive background in the industry to push each actor to their best audition level.

David Doan is currently the Director of Young Talent Development at CESD Talent Agency in NYC.  CESD is a bi-coastal full service talent agency representing all ages.  CESD has been responsible for launching the careers of many of Hollywood’s hottest young actors over the years.  As a Theatrical Agent, David books actors on TV, Film, and Theater projects for the company.  He has been working in the business for over 17 years.  He was previously the head of the Theatrical Department at Generation TV, a Talent Manager at J. Mitchell Management, and also a Casting Director for Nickelodeon where he cast pilots including Victorious and Big Time Rush.  He was also nominated for a 2012 Daytime Emmy Award for Casting Nick Jr.’s Bubble Guppies.  His passion for developing and successfully breaking out young performers was recognized in Variety Magazine’s 2015 Youth Impact Report where he was profiled alongside of the industry’s top talent, musicians, agents, and influencers of 2015.

Barry is Owner of Herman & Lipson Casting. He has been with Herman & Lipson for over 34 years casting over 8000 commercials both voiceover and on camera for such products as Loreal, ESPN, Advil, Verizon, Toy R Us, Kohl's, Papa Johns and many other top accounts. He casts for commercials all around the world and also casts for film, television and theatre. Recently he cast for the play Facespace which was performed at the Midtown International Theatre Festival. Prior to being a casting director, Barry managed a rehearsal studio for Broadway shows and also was a producer for a top fashion commercial director working with every top model in the industry. Barry also keeps busy on the weekends, traveling around the country conducting acting workshops at several universities. In New York, Barry teaches commercial technique classes, improv classes, and also directs comedy showcases for children and adults.
